City Coast Motorcycles co-hosted a WAYNE Special Event Q&A Screening in conjunction with Transmission Films and Greater Union Wollongong.
Guest Wayne Gardner was overwhelmed by the 500+ full house who watched the movie alongside him and the intimate Q&A with ex-wife Donna and Director Jeremy Sims. While there had been an advance screening in Melbourne and Sydney, Wayne stated he felt the Wollongong occasion was the true premiere. He spent more than an hour after the event chatting with the enthusiastic crowd and posing for selfies.
WAYNE is the near improbable true story of the ‘larrikin kid’ from Wollongong, Wayne Gardner. With girlfriend Donna Forbes never far from his side, Wayne’s remarkable journey takes him from a $5 dirt bike to the pinnacle of his sport. In 1987 Wayne becomes the first Australian to win the World Motorcycle Grand Prix, and with it, the hearts of all Australians.
During the Q&A session lead by ABC Illawarra’s Nick Rheinberger, Wayne revealed Valentino Rossi is his favourite rider of the modern era. He also shared that in the mountains in Europe remind him of Macquarie Pass.
Thank you to everyone who attended. If you missed our event don’t miss the national release on September 6.
